The Devil's Submission by Nicola Davidson

Disinherited by his parents and estranged from his wife, Fallen pleasure club co-owner Lord Grayson ‘Devil’ Deveraux long ago learned to place his trust in ledgers rather than people. But his ice-cold reserve hides the scandalous truth: he’s a man who craves pain with his pleasure, and a loving lady to instruct him.

Banished to the country when her whirlwind marriage collapsed, Lady Eliza Deveraux never knew why Grayson fell out of love with her: she’d tried so damned hard to quell her fiery self and be a proper, obedient wife. But when Eliza is forced to return to London and back into Grayson’s intoxicating world, banked passions reignite. Can a marriage built on secrets and pretense truly get a second chance?

My Review:     (Thanks to NetGalley)

I went into this book with a bit of hesitation because I am not a fan of BDSM and I hate plots that rely on miscommunication.

However, for some reason it worked. The BDSM aspect wasn't overwhelming and most of it was bearable (a few too much descriptions of 'wet, glistening pussies'for my taste). The miscommunication was cleared up without to many unnecessary dramas, and honestly because of the time period, the type of misdirection/miscommunication was understandable and probably expected.

I liked how the plot points were dealt with and how the 'bad' guy got their due (not really a bad guy more an irritating one, lol). If I had any criticisms it would be that this would have made a really good novel rather than a novella had the author put a bit more time and effort into it. I'm only giving it 3 stars because while it was good (and some parts startling original), it wasn't amazing and some of the sexual writing was a bit off putting (seriously, enough with the pussy! >_<).
